Our Partners
History of Successful Collaborations
Pfizer has been very successful in attracting and developing licensing and alliance opportunities for more than two decades. Our collaborations span every phase of research and development and include a variety of deal types. And, we have the know-how to develop mutually beneficial, results-oriented deals that continue to play an instrumental role in our evolution and growth. That's why—together with our partners—we are bringing forth the most innovative pharmaceutical and health care solutions through shared successes every day.
At Pfizer, we view licensing and collaborations as core business activities. And, we expect licensed and partnered products—as well as out-licensed products—to contribute to our aggressive growth targets in both the near and long terms.
Collaboration Examples Over Time
Our timeline illustrates a sampling of our successful collaborations—from research and development collaborations to approved products—over the past two decades.
Our Collaborations
The heart of our work is based on successful collaborations. We have completed a wide range of deals structured around major products—and more recently biotherapeutics—in all phases of clinical development. In fact, of the compounds attained through major licensing deals or acquisitions between 2005 and 2008:
- 31% were in Pre-Clinical development
- 16% were in Phase 1 development
- 26% were in Phase 2 – 3 development
In addition to compounds, we are seeking novel applications of science and technology that further our understanding of human and animal biology.
