Water Use
Safe water supply remains a challenge in many parts of the world. Access to clean water is one of the most important global health issues we face today, one that may become more critical in coming years due to our changing climate. There is also growing concern that sustainable access to safe water supply will be further challenged by overuse, population growth, economics and politics, presenting risks not only to individuals and public sector but also to the private sector.
While use of water in our research centers and manufacturing facilities is relatively small compared to some other industries, responsible management of water is an important element of our global EHS program. We require facilities worldwide to quantify water use, prioritize conservation measures and support community efforts during drought conditions.
We are striving to decrease water use, assessing our global impact and looking for opportunities to expand our responsibility in addressing this world health issue.
